This may come as a bit of a surprise, but "Glee" star Lea Michele has a whopping 14 tattoos! You may think that the excessive ink jobs are a way for the 25-year-old actress/singer to distinguish herself from her high school-aged, goodie-two-shoes character on the hit musical show, Rachel Berry. But as Lea revealed on "Late Show With David Letterman," there's more to it than that.
Turns out, getting body art is more of a family bonding activity for Ms. Michele, born Sarfati, and her kin. "I come from a very big Italian family, and tattoos are very popular," Lea explained. "So it'll be like Easter, and we'll be talking, and we'll be like, 'Let's all get tattoos!'"
"Some people go hunting for eggs. We go get tattoos," she joked. "Then we get super sentimental, and then the next day I wake up with, like, another butterfly on my foot. And I'm like, 'It seemed more important in the moment.'"
But, it looks like Lea and her family we'll have to start finding new ways to bond. The star says she's all out of hidden locations on her body to hide her ink from the public! "All my secret hidden spots are done," she revealed. "My real estate is over."
